What to Consider Before Microblading
Microblading may not be suitable for everyone. During your consultation, we’ll discuss your skin, brow goals, sensitivities and any factors that may affect treatment or healing. Individual results and pigment retention can vary.
As with any cosmetic treatment, sensitivity or allergic reactions to pigments or topical products are possible. Please tell us about any known allergies or sensitivities during your consultation.
​If you take blood-thinning medication, have a bleeding disorder or have another medical condition that may affect healing, please tell us during your consultation and speak with your healthcare provider before treatment. Do not stop prescribed medication unless instructed by your healthcare provider.
Preparing for Your Appointment
To help prepare for your appointment, avoid excessive sun exposure or tanning around the brow area and avoid waxing or plucking immediately before treatment. Please arrive with clean skin around the brows.
If you use prescription medications, blood thinners, active skincare ingredients or have recently had cosmetic treatments near the brow area, please let us know during your consultation. Do not stop prescribed medication unless instructed by your healthcare provider.
Microblading Aftercare
Some temporary redness, tenderness, darkening of the pigment and light flaking or scabbing can occur during the healing process. Avoid picking or scratching the treated area and follow the aftercare instructions provided by your technician.
During healing, you may be advised to limit excessive moisture, sweating, swimming, sun exposure and certain skincare products around the brows. Your technician will provide aftercare instructions based on your treatment.
Seek medical attention if you develop signs of infection or another concerning reaction.
How Long Does Microblading Last?
Microblading results gradually fade over time. How long the pigment remains visible varies depending on skin type, lifestyle, sun exposure, skincare routine and aftercare. A touch-up may be recommended to maintain the desired shape and colour.
